Kiwi Spirit shakedown cruise a success
Kiwi Spirit underway in November 2012
Lyman Morse
Less than three weeks after its launching, Dr. Stanley Paris departed aboard Kiwi Spirit from Newport, R.I., bound for Bermuda. The trip was Kiwi Spirit’s first offshore passage. The 63-foot custom sloop, built by Lyman Morse in Maine, acquitted itself well. "In 24-hours we covered 238 miles, averaging 10 knots," said Paris. "My fastest sail ever! At one point we reached 27.1 knots.
This boat is just awesome!" Only days after arriving in Bermuda, Paris departed again, this time bound for Antigua.

It was fun to climb aboard while she was in Newport Shipyard.
Glad to hear Dr. Paris had a good shake down cruise to Bermuda.
Thanks for your comments! It is an impressive vessel and Dr. Paris has an ambitious plan.
