Introduction to Celestial Navigation

May 3-4, 2014: A hands-on, fast-paced introductory course covering theory and practice plus navigation basics and dead reckoning. Sextant use and repair are discussed (but no sights actually are taken during the class in Marion). Emphasis is on practical celestial with plenty of pencil and paperwork. Class alumni have won the Marion Race and done numerous celestial-only ocean crossings.
