The Charles W. Morgan, the world’s only surviving wooden whaleship and the centerpiece of the Mystic Seaport collection, is to sail again following restoration. Following a four-month feasibility study, the museum has announced it will sail the ship when restoration is completed in 2013. The proposed voyage would take it to its old homeport of New Bedford and through the Cape Cod Canal to the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.
