Signing up for sailing instruction gets easier

Oct 30, 2007
  • The Internet comes to sailing instruction. Fair Wind Sailing School claims to be one of the first sailing schools that allow you to make your reservations online. Let’s just hope sailing schools don’t start allowing you to take the course online without ever getting into a boat!
From the press release: Fair Wind Sailing School has announced the launch of its new online reservation system. The new system allows customers to reserve sailing school berths online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is immediately active on Fair Wind Sailing's website: http://www.fairwindsailing.com. "Fair Wind is thrilled to provide this new system to our customers," commented David Bello, President. "This system expands the ways our customers can interact with us and effectively keeps us open to them 24 hours a day," Bello continued.

To date, few sailing schools have been able to offer online reservation systems due to data security and operational complexity issues. By utilizing PayPal's processing, Fair Wind's system avoids both of these issues. The system provides automated links from Fair Wind's sailing schedules to PayPal's payment system allowing for fast and easy reservations. In addition, since payments are processed by PayPal, no credit card or bank information from online reservations is stored at Fair Wind. "We have worked hard to develop a secure, effective and easy system to use and we hope are customers love it," said Bello. Fair Wind's intent is to continue to expand the system and enhance the user experience.
