The 22nd running of the Marion Bermuda Race saw 41 boats entered and reach the starting line on Friday, June 14. Early on in the 645-nm race, two boats withdrew due to equipment problems.

The overall winner was the Valiant 42 Cordelia owned by Roy and Gail Greenwald, which finished first on corrected time and won the Goslings Founders Trophy. Cordelia also won the Beverly Yacht Club Polaris Trophy as the best celestially navigated yacht. In her capacity as navigator, Gloria Greenwald won the Navigators Trophy. Gail’s husband, Roy, who skippered the race, said, “I make the boat go fast, and she tells me where to go.”
