Harken announces the addition of the 40 mm Switch T-Track Battcar System to the current inventory of Battcar systems. It joins the 18, 26, 32 and 50 mm sizes and is used for monohulls over 43 m (140') and multihulls over 27 m (90'). The additional option offers variety for customers based on specific mainsail deployment needs.

“The size and loads of the 40 mm system are ideal for superyachts from 43 m to 55 m. The 40 mm switch system offers a comprehensive product line with many options available to handle mainsails and storm trysails on this popular size range for the recent trend of superyachts,” said Steve Orlebeke, Harken’s Director of Engineering.

Harken’s patented Battcar switch system cuts mainsail stack height on large yachts by half, saving time and hassle when attaching halyards or putting on sail covers. The system offers low friction components and easy installation or removal of cars. An optional trysail switch system is also available, designed to load at deck level and deploy around the mainsail stack.

The Switch T-Track Battcar system includes cars for inboard batten ends, including specific models designed for high compression loads. It also includes intermediate cars for between battens, cars for reef point locations, and tack cars. All Battcars are anodized aluminum to stand up to sun, salt and abrasion over time.
