iNavX now available on Android devices

Dec 15, 2017

(SAN FRANCISCO) — iNavX, a mobile marine navigation application, has announced the release of iNavX for Android. Completely designed, it incorporates all the powerful features of the iNavX iOS handheld chartplotter, and has been expanded to include advanced functionality that modern mobile users demand.

Continuing to differentiate itself as the only application that supports multiple chart providers, iNavX can be used as a primary chartplotter, a toolkit or as a redundancy system. The new iNavX for Android includes a simplified design to enhance navigational controls with one-touch waypoint and route creation, and a racing-inspired instrument display. Currently, iNavX Android supports charts from Navionics, NV Charts, Blue Latitude, Delius Klasing, Explorer Chartbooks, Fugawi, Solteknik and Waterway Guide information overlays.

iNavX Android displays current position in real-time using the mobile device's built-in GPS. A truly handheld solution for marine navigation, users can plot course, bearing and waypoints. The new app includes seamless quilted NOAA charts for offline use, and is enabled with one-touch purchase and download of charts and navigation data. Theyr Weather, an optional service, provides a slick graphical overlay for all weather information that any mariner would want. With its coming support of NMEA data over TCP/IP, iNavX will integrate with external GPS, AIS receivers and transponders, as well as networked instruments including depth, speed, wind, engine data and battery voltage meters. GRIB weather forecasts and weather overlays can easily be downloaded and displayed on the app.

iNavX Android is available for download through the Google Play Store at

I download iNavx for Android and buy the India chart on x-traverse but I was disappointed. The display of latitude and longitude are N and W even this is south and east (for example south you see -12 N and for East you see 140 W and no minutes!).
On the India chart when I zoom, the boat or a waypoint change significantly of position.
This is not a good thing for navigation and must be dangerous.
