TrawlerFest Pacific Northwest moves to Bremerton Marina, WA

The TrawlerFest Pacific Northwest in-water boat show is moving to Bremerton Marina, May 18- 20. There will be an impressive selection of new and used trawlers on display during the in-water boat show. Take a look at our exhibitor list!

Seminars begin on Tuesday, May 16th at the new Kitsap Conference Center, just steps away from the marina. Two town hall-style roundtable discussions will address audience questions, one just for women. Our panel of real deal cruisers won't disappoint!

CRUISERS ROUNDTABLE with Bruce Kessler, Jeff Merrill, Dylan Bailey, John Clayman, Ken Fickett, Robert Reeder, Devin Zwick and Mark Bunzel  Friday, May 19 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.  In this "town hall" event, our panel of veteran cruisers will field audience questions on a wide-range of topics, sea stories always resulting. Circumnavigator Bruce Kessler can discuss what it's like to spend months and months treading blue water. Jeff Merrill is a yacht broker, author and trawler specialist with thousands of cruising miles with clients. Surveyor Dylan Bailey is a veteran cruiser who learned to build boats with his father. John Clayman is a prominent East Coast yacht broker, cruiser, racer and all around boat guy. Ken Fickett builds fast and slow cruising boats. PassageMaker contributor Robert Reeder is a Navy vet and professional mariner who teaches weather and navigation. Mark Bunzel publishes nautical guides that cover the waters of the Pacific Northwest and, as unlikely as it may seem, the Virgin Islands. Former PassageMaker Editor Peter Swanson, who cruised down-island on a shoestring, will moderate.

ADMIRALS ROUNDTABLE with Valerie Creighton, Becky Fickett, Linda Lewis, & Pat Rains
Wednesday, May 17 10:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

A standing joke in the cruising community goes like this: He may be the captain, but she is the admiral, because if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Or something like that. Valerie Creighton, Becky Fickett, Linda Lewis and Pat Rains all have cruised widely but with distinctly different experiences. Creighton and her husband have cut a swath from California to Thailand, Fickett, holder of a captains license, has thousands of miles under her belt in East Coast Waters. Linda Lewis is also a licensed captain who teaches powerboat handling and has cruised the Inside Passage to Southeast Alaska nine times. And Rains, also a captain, is a leading expert on cruising in Mexico. This seminar is for women who think they may want to go cruising or who have only recently entered into the cruising lifestyle and have a wide range of questions best answered by other women, and, alas, without any men in the room.

Following Stuart TrawlerFest's roundtable discussion, Kim Kalisik commented: "Questions ranged from boat handling, single vs. twin engines, safety and medical precautions to storage help, cooking and how to fit all your stuff into such a small space. To me, this panel discussion was the best part of the day!"
