After heading north to Newport, Rhode Island, Columbia, captained by Karl Joyner, is slated for a cruise to points in New England and Nova Scotia. Some notable stops include:

June 27th: Depart Newport, R.I. for Martha’s Vineyard. Location determined by weather, but docking at either Menemsha Bight or Edgartown Harbor

July 18th: Depart Martha’s Vineyard for Maine coastal cruise, from Portland to Boothbay between July 18th and 26th

July 26th: Depart Boothbay for Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

August 22nd: Depart Lunenburg for Sable Island.

August 23rd: Anchoring off of historic Sable Island. Sable Island is a 13-mile sandbar off the coast of Nova Scotia. Once called “The Graveyard of the Atlantic”, the island is a National Reserve Park of Canada, and is home to a unique species of feral horse the “Sable Island Horse.”

After departing Sable Island, Columbia is set to participate in the Gloucester, Mass. Schoonerfest and the New London, Conn. Maritime Festival in September and then return south to Florida.
