This Sunday, 372 boats will begin the Royal Ocean Racing Club's Rolex Fastnet Race, the world’s largest offshore yacht racing event. The 600-mile “classic” race, which turns 90 this year, features a record number of vessels – an increase from the 335 entrants in 2013 – with seven different starts for different  classes. The race attracts yachts from all over the world and begins off England's Isle of Wright. Boats and sailors are gathering from all over the world to get ready for the 90th race. Among the yachts, three – Jim Clark and Kristy Hinze Clark's 100-ft Comanche, Maximilian Klink's Botin Partners 65, Caro, and Richard and Cathy Dobbs' Swan 68, Titiana – have made the trip from Australia where at the end of December they competed in the Fastnet's antipodean equivalent, the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
