New CeMA facility plans

Sep 11, 2012

Clean eMarine Americas

Clean eMarine Americas (CeMA), of Annapolis, recently inked a partnership with their Danish manufacturing branch in favor of producing Thoosa and Triton propulsion systems in St. Petersburg, Florida by the end of 2012. The move was made in leu of rising shipping costs between the two facilities, compounded by higher demand for "green" products domestically.

"We have been proud to offer these high quality, Danish-designed systems to boat owners in the US since 2010," stated Sally Ruther, CEO of of CeMA.  "But now we are able to do so more competitively by producing them in St. Petersburg, FL."

The St. Petersburg production facility will be headed by Charlie Johnson, CeMa partner and owner of JTB Marine Corporation. Production, assembly, and testing will be the functions of the facility, which projects to cut lead times for system delivery significantly - by 50%.
