New Alerion 41 model releasedSep 4, 2012
Pearson Marine Group (PMG), maker of Alerion Yachts, has recently completed their newest model - the Alerion 41 sloop. Advantages of the new design allow full interior accommodations and standing headroom, both of which promote overnight cruising in addition to simple day sailing.
"The Alerion 41 is the first model in our 'Alerion Series' of coastal cruising boats," announced Scott Bryant, Vice President of PMG. "She was effectively defined by some of our 'Alerion Express series' customers who told us that they wanted to extend their Alerion Sailing experience beyond an afternoon of daysailing. That predicated an interior with standing headroom, two private staterooms and a generous head. We've given the Alerion 41 comfortable accommodations for up to six."
The focal detail of the Alerion 41 is the ease with which it can be sailed singlehanded. All controls are directed to the helm, including push-button winch control. Added control of jib release/enclosure makes for a quick getaway from the dock; under five minutes, as projected by PMG. The speed of this and the Alerion Express models is attributed to a "thoroughly modern arrangement" of the fin keel and rudder. PMG promises comfortable cockpit design ergonomics that have "garnered such praise for Alerion Express models."
Immediate interest has been shown in the Alerion 41 model, and PMG has made it clear that, aside from personal affects and preferred electronics, the vessels are ready to sail upon purchase.
