Tracking data shows Ensenada racer ran aground
SPOT satellite tracking data shows Aegean's course took the boat directly onto the rocks.
The April 29 accident involving the Newport/Ensenada race boat Aegean, as a result of which three sailors died and a fourh is missing, appears to have involved Aegean running up on the rocky shore of North Cornado Island. SPOT satellite tracking data shows the boat's course taking it directly onto the rocks.
It's unknown why none of the boat's four crewmembers made an effort to change course to avert the grounding.
