Saving the Day

Picture 9

French sailing icon Florence Arthaud found herself in a life-threatening position recently when she, alone at sea, fell from her vessel into waters off the coast of Corsica.

Managing to hold on to her waterproofed phone, her first instinct was to call her mother. Within two hours, Arthaud was rescued. Certainly her headlamp and GPS system aided in her recovery, but it is interesting that in her time of desperate need she reached out to perhaps the safest bet any human may know, Mom.
