MARLOW ROPES NAMED OFFICIAL SPONSOR OF ACURA KEY WEST 2009

Dec 4, 2008 East Sussex, UK – based Marlow Ropes, a brand familiar to high performance sailors around the globe, has sent a clear message about its intentions to colonize the US raceboat market in 2009 by announcing it has been named an Offical Sponsor of "Acura Key West" Race Week 2009, the premiere mid-winter Grand Prix sailing event in North America. "This partnership is a natural," explains Marlow Yachting Sales Director Paul Honess. "Around the world, Marlow is synonymous with performance sailing, whether it be through our relationships with Skandia Team GBR (the British Olympic Sailing Team), Ellen MacArthur's Offshore Challenges group, or through supporting events like Hyere's Olympic Class regatta in France. When the opportunity to show US sailors what we do came up, it didn't take long for us to jump at the chance".

Marlow's US presence has been growing steadily over the past year, with a renewed focus on long-term brand growth and steady market penetration. US Brand Manager Forrest Williams explains. "We have been working hard to develop the right relationships to get the message across in the US that we see when we travel on the Grand Prix circuits. Whether you're a Laser sailor or campaign a TP52, Marlow has rigging solutions that will make you faster. Period. And we can't imagine a better forum for sending this message in the US than Acura Key West Race Week."

Marlow have worked with many high performance boats and teams over this past year from 100' maxis like ICAP Leopard to Extreme 40's after the introduction of the Marlow Grand Prix Series.
