James Bond movie set?
We are at Kur Island, an outpost if I ever saw one but the Japanese gave money to build a huge wharf and fancy waiting room and ticket office for a "ferry"; the village men are building a coral road topped with asphalt from the typical outisland village of mudbrick and wood houses where the people live on fish and coconut. When we arrived here, heard heavy trucks, saw the dock, looked like the setting for a James Bond movie.
On now to the Bandas. Should be interesting. From here on anchoring means dropping a bow hook on a shelf and tying the stern to a tree or plunking a kedge anchor on the beach. Will let you know how we manage. Sampai jumpa (until we meet)
