Dick and Kathy de Grasse announce the 20th annual Seven Seas Cruising Association “Downeast” Gam will be held Saturday 7th of August at Dick and Kathy de Grasse’s cottage on Islesboro, Maine, 44° 16.9′ N, 68° 58.9′ W.
There will be a dinghy raft-up around 5 pm Friday 6th of August in Broad Cove. There is no admission charge. The lunch Saturday is a pot luck. Ice, grill, tables, name tags and such will be provided. Commemorative SSCA Maine Gam T shirts will be sold. Diesel, gas and fresh water are available nearby. Bring books to swap and stuff to sell or give away.
Gilkey Harbor and Broad Cove are all-weather harbors on the east side of Islesboro Island with plenty of room, good holding and very few lobster pot buoys to get tangled up in. SSCA members and non-members are invited. On your travels further Downeast or to Canada mark your calendars and stop in. Plan to spend a few days. If all goes according to plan we’ll monitor VHF Channel 68 a few days before the gam!
