United States Yacht Shows embarks on full complement of spring shows.

Annapolis, MD 4/20/11 – Each spring boating activity explodes on the Chesapeake Bay, and right along with it a number of interesting boat shows, open houses, and related events. This year is no exception as United States Yacht Shows, producers of Annapolis, Maryland’s historic U.S. Sailboat Show and U.S. Powerboat Show kick off an aggressive schedule of boat shows. Each is unique in its location, purpose, and content.

April 28 – May 1, 2011. Bay Bridge Boat Show at the eastern end of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on Kent Island. Hundreds of boats and marine exhibitors will display their wares at the event that signals the start of the boating season in the Mid-Atlantic region. This year the event will also feature a weigh station for the MSSA Rockfish tournament and the Delmarva Dock Dogs Extreme Jumping Competition. Information and tickets at www.usboat.com

May 7 – 8, 2011. Annapolis Spring Sails Event has showcased new and brokered sailboats in Annapolis each spring for the past eight years. The combined locations of Jabin’s Boat Yard and Port Annapolis Marina will host the event. The main organizations of the Annapolis sailing industry will join forces in this weekend celebration of sail. May 12 – 15, 2011. Cruisers University and Boat Expo will premier in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. Billed as the Ultimate Aid to Navigation, this weekend will feature a comprehensive 100 hours of training taught by cruising professionals from across the country. Dozens of cruising boats, both sail and power, will be on display in the water, and another 50-60 land exhibitors will provide interactive displays. Sailing dinghy rides, Mt Gay Rum cocktails, door prizes, food concessions, demonstrations, and cruising ambassadors will combine to make this the one stop learning shop for prospective live-aboard cruisers. May 28 -29, 2011. Annapolis Nautical Flea Market is in its third year at Annapolis Navy Marine Corps Stadium and features everything from sloop to nuts in boating. A huge array of well-loved boating treasures, fishing gear, jewelry, hardware, clothing, and rigging items will be available to look through and purchase. www.usboat.com
