Annapolis Prepares for October Boat Shows

Annapolis, Maryland. October marks the 42nd annual opening of the United States Sailboat Show with the 40th Anniversary of the United States Powerboat Show to be celebrated the following weekend. Produced annually by United States Yacht Shows, Inc., these great shows mark two of the most significant events in the boating industry’s year. The look-and-feel of the shows has evolved over the years enhancing the spirit of camaraderie and a sense of place in maritime history.
United States Sailboat Show – October 6-10, 2011. Recognized as the nation’s oldest and largest in-water show of new sailboats, it will feature hundreds of new sailboats ranging from inflatable and one-design boats and modest family weekend racer/cruisers to impressive yachts of all sizes. Mono-hulls up to 80’, the largest selection of multihulls in the country, racing sleds, and ocean-going cruising boats – every type of sailboat imaginable will be on display to inspect. United States Powerboat Show – October 13-16, 2011. This venerable event has run continuously for forty years at Annapolis’ city dock and harbor. With hundreds of boats on land and in-water, the range and selection of new boats to view and buy is immense. Inflatables, kayaks, electric and hybrid boats, recreational ski boats, center consoles, trawlers, and magnificent ocean vessels up to 82’ will be featured. Hundreds of tents and booths will be chock full of boating gear, accessories, clothing and jewelry. Special features include:
