Five days and change across the Atlantic

A new solo North Atlantic crossing record has been set by Thomas Coville aboard his 105-foot trimaran Sodeb’O. Coville flew from Ambrose Light off New York Harbor to the finish line at Lizard Point in Cornwall, England, in five days, 19 hours, 29 minutes and 20 seconds. The previous record was by fellow Frenchman Francis Joyon of six days, four hours, one minute and 37 seconds, set in 2005.
