If you plan on gunkholing in the Turks and Caicos near Ambergris Cay, you might want to update your charts. Otherwise a gigantic oblong of landfill just might catch you by surprise, though its hard to imagine how you could miss it. According to the Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay the massive piece of new land is the longest private airstrip in Caribbean. This private airport is now open and will no doubt assist in the development of the private resort island.
