Tide software and DST

Jeppesen Marine has introduced a new version of its Tides & Currents tide and tidal current prediction software. What makes this particularly interesting is the need to update the program for a change in Daylight Savings Time (DST) introduced this year.

Starting this year DST will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007. It will also end a week later on November 4, 2007. This means that the new DST period will be four weeks longer than in the past. This also means that programs like Jeppesen’s Tides & Currents, need to be updated for the new DST scheme. The program, which according to Jeppesen has a sleek new interface, has been corrected to take into account the expanded DST period. It also has predictions through the year 2100, exclusive support for Passport Charts, a real-time tide & current window, plus customizable and printable reports.
