The recent article on night vision devices was a most informative ("Night vision," Issue No. 61) technical brief on night vision intensifiers. However, while the author mentioned the availability of Russian night vision equipment, he failed to include any detail on these units.
These devices represent an affordable and practical alternative to the higher-priced U.S. and Japanese units mentioned. The Russian equipment is durable, costs less, and provides an acceptable price/performance trade-off for night vision use.
