Ranger replica being built in Holland

The New York design firm Sparkman & Stephens has been commissioned by a Dutch businessman to redraw lines for a new Ranger, the 130-foot J-boat that was initially designed by S&S and Starling Burgess and built by Bath Iron Works in 1937, but was dismantled during World War II for the U.S. war effort. Ranger was the last J-boat to compete for (and win) America’s Cup, which it did in 1937.
