Pull up your boat – or else

Arctic correspondent Robert Eno provided this pictorialadmonishment to always pull your vessel above the high-tide line, even if the body of water is frozen over, like this scene on Frobisher Bay in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The boat was overwhelmed by water, despite ?40°C temperatures, that seeped through cracks in the ice as the flood tide came in. The hapless vessel filled quickly with water, which later froze solid.

The vessel will remain until spring thaw, according to Eno.
