For a fee, the company, YachtID (www.yachtid.com), will record vessel details and maintain them in a secure non-governmental global database. The company also offers GPS locator systems as well as an undetectable chip technology that can store all of the yachts' vital information.
Law enforcement agencies and insurers can easily access the database and use it as a recovery tool.
