Can the wrist radio be far behind?

You know a technology is maturing when it catches up with the out-landish devices in popular culture. GPS receivers seem to have reached this point with the announcement by Casio in January of a wristwatch with a built-in GPS receiver. Shades of Dick Tracy.

The GPS watch has a built-in eight- channel receiver that can update your position once a second and record 200 waypoints and 100 routes. The watch will reportedly sell for $600 and be available by late summer of ’99.
