Portland, OR - Now in its 14th year, this popular Ocean Navigator seminar offers relevant and practical training for cruising sailors and marine professional who operate out of range of rapid rescue and medical assistance. We emphasize understanding of body systems and principles of care to best prepare the medical officer to improvise and adapt to an infinite variety of situations that occur in the open sea. Classroom instruction is tied to the student's own experience through the liberal use of case studies, scenarios, and hands-on assessment problems in a voyaging context. Offshore Emergency Medicine is certified by Wilderness Medical Associates International and Medical Officer, Ltd. and Coast Guard approved under CFR 46. Other dates as posted.
